Samantha Colliton

Remedial Massage Therapist

Sam is an experienced Remedial Massage Therapist with more than 25 years in the massage and health industry. After initially studying Naturopathy and Nutrition, partly inspired by her own experience of living with Type 1 Diabetes, she quickly became fascinated by how the body moves, recovers and adapts to our often-crazy modern lifestyles. This led her to specialise in massage.

She has a special interest in fascia, women’s health, midlife, menopause and helping people maintain their movement and mobility as they age.

Sam’s approach to massage has developed through many years of hands-on clinical work. She opened her first clinic in Thredbo, followed by Palm Beach, before making a tree change to Orange. Over the years, she has owned and operated very busy clinics, employing and mentoring up to 10 massage therapists at a time. She now works primarily on the Central Coast and travels to Parkes once a month to provide remedial massage to the Central West. After experiencing a significant wrist injury early in her career, she began exploring more effective ways to treat the body while reducing unnecessary strain on both the therapist thumbs and the client, avoiding pokey fingers and painful elbow deep tissue. This led her to develop RemStone Therapy®, utilising stones as massage tools within remedial and fascia-based treatments. She is a testament that it works and continues to teach other therapists with her online coaching platform.

Today, Sam offers Fascia Remedial Therapy, working with the fascial system  - the connective tissue that runs throughout the entire body. Rather than focusing only on the area that feels sore or tight, Sam considers how patterns of tension, posture, movement, dehydration, inflammatory responses and everyday habits may be affecting the body as a whole.

Her treatments are firm, focused and individually adapted to help release tension, restore movement and support the body to move more freely. She combines her clinical experience with practical education, helping clients better understand their bodies and the simple things they can do to support their mobility between appointments.

Sam has a particular passion for supporting women through midlife and menopause. She understands that this stage of life can bring changes in mobility, muscle tension, recovery, energy and general wellbeing. Her approach is practical, very informative, down-to-earth and focused on helping each client feel heard, supported and more confident in their body.

Sam believes massage should be more than simply working harder on the area that hurts. By looking at the body more broadly and working with the fascial system, she aims to provide thoughtful, effective treatment that supports better movement, mobility, and everyday function.

Sam’s special interests include, but are not limited to:

  • Fascia-based remedial therapy

  • Peri-menopause, post-menopause and midlife mobility
